The Food and Drug Administration has ramped up its efforts to block unsafe food imports from entering the United States. The agency is specifically targeting products that contain illegal colours, pesticides, and other unsafe additives.
According to Food Safety News, the FDA is utilising and updating its system of import alerts to better enforce safety regulations. These alerts allow the agency to modify its approach to foreign shipments as new risks are identified.
