Consumer packaged goods companies could soon see a reduction in regulatory complexity. According to FoodNavigator Europe, two bipartisan bills are being considered that would establish national standards for packaging claims.
The proposed legislation aims to eliminate the current patchwork of differing state requirements. While this move would provide much needed relief for brands, the report notes that these new standards may come with specific conditions.
