AI Content Policy

This policy governs the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools on The Yum Pandemic for recipe drafting, content enrichment, image generation, and automated moderation.

1. Integrated AI Technologies

The Yum Pandemic integrates advanced third-party generative AI models, including OpenAI's GPT models, to provide recipe drafting, ingredient breakdown, translation, and recipe image generation. We do not permit our AI partners to use your data or prompts to train their models.

2. Source Material and Generated Platform Content

  • Source Material: You retain ownership of any rights in the photographs, recipe information, original writing, and other material you submit. You grant the processing licence described in the Terms of Use so the Platform and its providers can analyse and transform that Source Material.
  • Generated Platform Content: As between you and us, Mr Andrew Tzionis trading as The Yum Pandemic owns any rights that legally exist in recipe text, images, editorial enhancements, layouts, and other content generated or independently created by or for the Platform from your Source Material. Original user-written blogs remain Source Material unless composed or substantially generated by the Platform.

3. Disclaimers of Copyright and Infringement

  • Copyright Protection Uncertainty: Under current copyright guidelines in the United States, European Union, and United Kingdom, purely AI-generated text or images lacking sufficient human creative input may not be eligible for copyright protection.
  • No Infringement Warranty: We do not warrant that Generated Platform Content is original or does not infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties. AI providers generally do not offer output-related infringement indemnification.
  • Commercial Risk: Any use of Generated Platform Content permitted by your subscription plan for commercial publications, product menus, advertising, or printed cookbooks is at your own risk.

4. Disclosure and Labelling Obligations

  • AI Transparency: The Platform may label Generated Platform Content as AI-generated or AI-assisted. Where the Platform permits you to export, share, or republish that content, you must preserve required disclosures and comply with applicable transparency rules.   • Automated Labels: The Platform reserves the right to automatically append labels, watermarks, or metadata annotations to AI-generated images or recipes to identify them as AI-assisted.
  • Removal of Labels: You must not remove or attempt to circumvent required AI watermarks, metadata, or labels applied by the Platform.
  • Export Control & Sanctions: Compliance with international export regulations and usage restrictions in comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions is detailed in our Regional Legal Annexes.

5. User Review and Culinary Safety

  • Pre-Publish Review: Generative AI can make errors (known as hallucinations) regarding ingredient proportions, cooking temperatures, and technique steps.
  • Safety Checks: You must review, edit, and verify all AI-drafted cooking instructions and safety recommendations before publishing or serving.
  • Professional Liability: Professional chefs, brands, and caterers must test and verify AI-generated recipes to ensure compliance with local health codes and allergen safety laws.

6. Prohibited AI Activities

  • Harmful Content: You must not use the AI tools to generate hate speech, harassment, illegal instructions, or adult content.
  • Impersonation: You must not use the AI tools to generate content that falsely impersonates real people, brands, or businesses.
  • Scraping for Training: You must not use Generated Platform Content or Platform database content to train external AI models or competitive databases.
