Ghana's cocoa regulator, COCOBOD, is grappling with mounting financial pressure. According to a report by Food Business Africa, the organisation has seen its liabilities surge by 47.5 per cent.
This financial downturn is coupled with a 57.9 per cent fall in equity. The regulator is currently facing increased short-term obligations driven by a rise in payables and inventories.
In response to these challenges, plans are being developed to restructure the financing model and manage the existing debt more effectively.
