The South African citrus industry is facing potential tariff risks in the United States. This uncertainty persists even with the extension of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), which typically facilitates trade between the two nations.
According to Food Business Africa, the Citrus Growers Association (CGA) maintains that no single market should be the primary dependency for their products. The industry currently exports its citrus fruit to 120 different countries globally to mitigate such risks.
