Asahi Beverages adopts recycled plastic in Australia

The company is moving its soft drinks portfolio to 100 per cent recycled PET bottles.

Asahi Beverages is transitioning its range of soft drinks in Australia to packaging made from 100 per cent recycled PET. This move aims to reduce the company's reliance on virgin plastic across its major beverage portfolio.

According to Food Business Africa, the shift has been made possible by the development of bottle-to-bottle recycling infrastructure. This system allows used plastic to be processed and returned to the production line as new bottles.
