The Rai Group has announced plans to invest 32 million US dollars into the construction of a new sugar factory in Nandi County. The facility, known as the West Sugar mill, is part of the group's wider strategy to grow its footprint within the Kenyan sugar sector.
According to Food Business Africa, the mill will start by processing 1,500 tonnes of cane every day. There are already plans in place to eventually double this output as operations scale up.
