Kenya's sugar industry has generated US$258.3 million over a seven-month period. According to Food Business Africa, this growth is driven by a combination of higher cane supplies and the revival of several sugar mills.
The rise in domestic output has significantly lowered the country's dependence on imported sugar. This shift in production levels has also helped to stabilise and ease prices for consumers across the region.
