Ethiopia has entered into a deal worth 10 million US dollars to increase the capacity of its poultry hatcheries. The initiative is designed to strengthen domestic supply chains within the region.
According to Food Business Africa, the project focuses on reducing the country's current reliance on imported chicks. By expanding local production, the nation hopes to create a more sustainable and independent poultry sector.
