Ukraine has seen a rise in food safety incidents during the first half of 2026. According to data from the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, 31 outbreaks were registered across Kyiv and 11 other regions.
The reports highlight a particular concern regarding botulism. There have been 19 confirmed cases of the condition, which have tragically resulted in two deaths.
