Kenya is looking to significantly boost its livestock sector by modernising its meat processing capabilities. Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe has highlighted the need for updated technology and stronger processing capacity to help the nation tap into a potential US$3.01 billion industry.
According to Food Business Africa, the strategy focuses on opening new export markets to increase incomes for livestock farmers. The government believes these investments will not only grow the economy but also create a substantial number of new jobs across the country.
