Health authorities in the United Kingdom have launched an investigation after Listeria monocytogenes was detected in chicken products. The contaminated poultry was supplied to hospitals and imported from Brazil by Foodbridge EU and Foodbridge UK.
According to Food Safety News, the UK Health Security Agency was alerted to the issue by the National Food Agency. A withdrawal of the affected products has been initiated to prevent further risk to patients.
