A Salmonella outbreak in Belgium has seen a sharp increase, with the number of confirmed cases now reaching 300. The surge has prompted an investigation into the source of the infection.
According to Food Safety News, the investigation identified the bacteria in a dust sample collected from a Laerco chicken coop. Further analysis confirmed that the strain found in the coop matched the type detected in affected patients.
