The Netherlands has released official figures detailing a significant number of foodborne illnesses throughout 2025. According to Food Safety News, there were 1,142 recorded outbreaks that left 4,279 people sick.
The data highlights 12 large epidemics, each affecting at least 25 individuals. Pathogens were successfully identified in 31 of these incidents, with Salmonella accounting for ten of those cases.
