The CDC and FDA have revealed that outbreaks of the Cyclospora parasite are more extensive than initial reports suggested. Combined data shows that the number of confirmed patients is now approaching 7,000.
According to Food Safety News, one of the two primary outbreaks has been linked to iceberg lettuce products from Taylor Farms.
