Health representatives from countries across the Americas, including the US, have approved an updated regional food safety strategy, Food Safety News reports.
The Strategy and Plan of Action on Food Safety 2026-2031 provides a framework for strengthening national systems. Foodborne infections cause about 78,000 deaths in the region each year.
