Air Cargo Fleet Set for Major Growth

Boeing predicts a significant increase in global freighter aircraft to support the rise of e-commerce.

The global fleet of large widebody freighters is expected to grow substantially over the next two decades. According to data from Food Business Africa, Boeing forecasts that the number of these aircraft will rise from 685 in 2025 to 1,280 by 2045.

This projected expansion, which represents a growth of two-thirds, is driven largely by the continued surge in e-commerce. The forecast includes the use of the 777F and the new 777-8F models to meet increasing transport demands.
