Health officials in Belgium have identified a significant Salmonella outbreak that has left 230 people sick. The investigation focused on the source of the contamination within the poultry supply chain.
According to Food Safety News, investigators discovered the bacteria in a dust sample collected from a Laerco BV chicken coop. Further analysis confirmed that this specific strain matched the type found in the affected patients.
