Recent infection statistics from Ireland indicate a growing trend in major pathogens. According to a report from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC), most significant pathogens have seen an increase over the past year.
The data, which covers the entirety of 2025 and the most recent quarter, highlights a particularly sharp rise in Salmonella. As reported by Food Safety News, levels of this specific pathogen have climbed to their highest point since 2008.
