Plantopia, a food tech company based in Israel, has successfully raised $9m to scale the commercial production of oat-grown casein. The funding is intended to help the startup provide scalable, animal-free dairy ingredients specifically for food manufacturers.
According to DairyReporter, the venture focuses on creating a sustainable alternative to traditional dairy proteins. By utilising oats to grow casein, the company aims to offer a functional replacement that maintains the properties of animal dairy without the need for livestock.
