China has experienced a notable increase in mushroom poisoning incidents throughout 2025. According to Food Safety News, the number of affected patients and overall poisoning cases have climbed to their highest levels in six years.
Despite the rise in illness, the data indicates a positive trend regarding mortality. The number of deaths resulting from these incidents has reached its lowest point within the same six-year window.
