Waitrose has become the first supermarket to offer British samphire to customers regardless of the season. This move aims to ensure a consistent supply of the coastal green for shoppers.
According to The Grocer, the retailer achieved this by partnering with speciality produce grower Westlands. The grower utilises glasshouse technology and advanced hydroponics to maintain production year-round.
