Salmonella Cases Rise in England

Recent data indicates an increase in Salmonella infections during the first quarter of 2026.

England has experienced a spike in Salmonella infections during the start of 2026. According to figures from the UK Health Security Agency, there were more than 2,000 cases reported between January and March.

As reported by Food Safety News, non-typhoidal Salmonella laboratory reports for the first quarter saw a slight rise compared to the same period in 2024, increasing from 1,541 to 1,588 cases. Conversely, the data suggests that Campylobacter infections have declined.
