A severe heatwave has triggered a shortage of milk across Britain, leading to a dispute between dairy farmers and processors. According to DairyReporter, the National Farmers Union has warned that processors are failing to share rising market returns with producers.
While spot milk prices have climbed due to the scarcity of supply, the NFU suggests that some farmers are still receiving payments that fall below their actual cost of production.
