Brazil seeks new markets after US grape tariffs

Brazilian table grape exporters are looking towards Europe and Asia following a 35 per cent tariff hike from the US.

The United States has introduced a 35 per cent tariff on table grapes imported from Brazil. This move has prompted a shift in strategy for Brazilian exporters who are now seeking to reduce their reliance on the American market.

According to Food Business Africa, the industry body Abrafrutas is urging producers to diversify their trade destinations. Efforts are currently focused on identifying alternative buyers across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe to mitigate potential financial losses.
